'dream logic' original acrylic painting on canvas board
this painting began like a dream: with leftovers.
i was working on a figurative painting, and used this canvas board to wipe the excess off my palette knife and brushes. after doing this for a couple of painting sessions, it started looking like its own painting to me. so i began to treat it as such, and added what my intuition called for. paint to cover the specks of white canvas. the black border. the white spirals.Ā
this process of going from unconscious to conscious creation reminded me of how we interpret and assign meaning to the dreams we have at night. we take the mental residue and build a story (how human of us).

the fluffy studio assistant is eating allergen-reducing food, and tends not to bother allergic people in my experience.
it will be packaged (very carefully) with reused materials because it's nonsensical to me to throw out the packaging materials i get, only to then go and buy new ones. waste not want not.
measurements: 30x40 cm
the canvas board is 5 mm thick.
