'emotional baggage drop' original painting from 'poetry f*cks'
between the ages of 13-15, i was being bullied pretty badly, and that still has consequences for how i move through the world and relate to myself and other people. i have made great strides, but the title is more wishful thinking (and wanting to be a little funny with it, you know me) than an accurate assessment.
this poem was born of an exercise in a youtube video someone sent me, where you visualise your adult self going to pick up your child self from the unsafe situation they were in. the ink drawing is referenced from a photo of me around that age.
luckily i scanned the drawing before adding colour, because i ended up preferring the black and white version for the vibe of this particular piece, even though the collection (and my art in general) as a whole is very colourful.
this piece is on 200 GSM paper and measures 21x30 cm.
